NYX Matte Lipstick in Goal Digger review!

When it comes to darker shades of lipstick, I’m a bit of a newbie. I finally found one that I actually like on myself, it was so hard to choose but I decided to share my choice with you, it’s the NYX Matte Lipstick in Goal Digger!

So NYX is everywhere at the moment, my local Boots now have a huge stand and where better to head for advice on the perfect dark lipstick for me than to the NYX counter. I went one lunch time and spoke to a wonderful and helpful lady. I just said I wanted a dark plum shade and she picked this out straight away. Not only did she choose off the top of her head, she made sure I liked it and then tested it out on me and expertly applied it to my lips! I did feel a little bit nervous because I have never worn anything as daring as this during the day let alone to work! I told her how nervous I was about wearing it and she gave me some great advice about how it was all in the confidence!

Sleek Makeup Lip VIP Scandalous metallic lipstick!

Happy Monday!! I hope yours goes as well as I am hoping that mine will! Today is a review of the Sleek Makeup Lip VIP Scandalous Metallic Lipstick!

Unless you have been hidden under a rock, you will no doubt know that Sleek Makeup recently launched their Rockstars Collection. Within that collection were two amazing metallic lipsticks and I knew as soon as I saw the shade Scandalous that I had to have it! These lipsticks come under the Sleek Makeup Lip VIP range which have been around a while. They provide semi matte coverage that packs a punch with great pigmentation and awesome coverage!

What makes these different to other Lip VIP lipsticks is the bullet of the lipstick and how it is shaped like a diamond, you can definitely tell they are part of the Rockstars Collection!

Sleek MakeUp Matte Me Lip Cream Review!

Matte lipstick is so on trend right now, and as someone who is new to wearing lipstick everyday, I feel like trying out an extremely matte liquid lipstick was such a bold and crazy move! I love the look and I have seen so many bloggers and youtubers using them, I finally went out and found one from a brand that I love!

It’s the Matte Me Lip Cream by Sleek MakeUp and it is amazing!!!

I have always loved Sleek, I have used their eyebrow kit, I swear by their contour palette and own several of their shadow palettes plus a few other bits and bobs. I was pleased to see that they have expanded their range and are going further than most of the other high street brands that you can buy in Boots or Superdrug.

I have three different shades of the matte lip cream, Petal 435, Birthday Suit 436 and Shabby Chic 1037. For me I do choose more neutral pink and brown tones, but the range of colours they offer covers everything from deep reds to daring purples, so there really is something for every taste.

Matte Me Sleek MakeUp The Plus Size of Life

I love how easy these are to apply, I do use a lip liner but only because I am still so inexperienced with a matte liquid lipstick and if I try to do it without sometimes you can tell that I have overlined my lips. The consistency is a nice thick cream that glides on the lips nicely and dries to a smooth finish! It dries perfectly matte on the lips and lasts a hell of a long time! Another thing I love about this product is that it doesn’t dry too quickly, giving you plenty of time to perfect your pout, especially if you’re a beginner like me!

Outfit August! Anniversary

OUTFIT AUGUST 500 WIDEYou may have seen my picture on instagram on Friday, but I thought I would share my outfit on the blog as well:)

IMG_20150814_203034[1]I love this dress, it’s from Simply Be and I got it just before Christmas last year. I love the neckline and the skirt has several layers, making it a full style. It’s so girly and I feel amazing in it! I wore it with a black waterfall blazer, which is from the So Fabulous range at Very, my New look Wide fit sandals and an oversized clutch which is from Primark.

SAM_1120I kept my make up simple, but I wore a classic smoky eye and a beautiful matte lipstick which is called Paper Rose by Collection 2000. You may notice the blue hair grip in my hair, I wore these on my wedding day as my something blue and I still have all of them, I thought I would wear one for our anniversary night out as well 🙂

I would love it if you would check out all the other lovely ladies taking part in Outfit August below 🙂 you can also check out #outfitaugust2015 on instagram for lots of outfits not being shared on people’s blogs!

Beauty Wishlist!

Morning Lovelies! Today I have a little Wishlist to share with you, it’s all the beauty essentials I am lusting after right now!

1. Beauty Blender Original £16.00

These little egg shaped sponges are supposed to be AMAZING! They are made from a unique material that means your make up won’t soak up your make up during application. 360 degrees of edgeless sponge wonder provides flawless application preventing lines and streaks. You can use it for all types of make up, wet or dry and there are several different sponges for different jobs, I’m dying to try the original one after getting such good results with a £5 dupe by Real Techniques!

2. Mac Please Me Lipstick £15.50

I have wanted this shade of mac for a while, but I find that £15 on one lipstick is wayyyyy too out of my price range. I’ve heard great things about it though! It’s the shade I am lusting after the most, i’m struggling to find one thats even remotely like it from a normal Boots brand.

3. Elegant Touch Nails Totally Bare Stiletto £4.65

I like to have false nails in for when I go out, I have recently stopped having acrylics done so I rely on having sets like these in for emergencies! I love the fact that you can paint them any colour you want, so you can match the shade to your outfit! It gives you a little bit more freedom than having a classic french set!

4. Sleek Make up Dancing Till Dusk Eye and Cheek Palette £9.99

I am a huge fan of Sleek Makeup. I have a few of the eyeshadow palettes and the contouring palette in light is part of my everyday routine. I love the idea of this little palette, blushes and eyeshadows all in one place, which means for me less make up to carry on a night out hoorahhhh!

5. Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Backcomb In A Bottle £4

This little bottle of wonder is a must have if like me you have lifeless flat hair. I have quite thin hair and I find it hard to hold any sort of style. For a night out, I like a bit more volume but it would be nice if my hair hadn’t gone flat about ten minutes after leaving the house. This product also claims to help with texture which is another bonus for me.

6. Flash Jimmy Choo Perfume £46 for 60ml

I’ve blogged about this perfume previously, but it will always be on my beauty wishlist. I wore this the day I got married and all through our honeymoon as well, so not only does it smell gorgeous but it comes with alot of good memories! Try it if you get a chance because it’s soooo nice!

What would be on your wishlist this month? Do you fancy trying any of my picks?

So you probably all saw in the press a while back that Poundland had brought out its own range of make up products – MakeUp Gallery, and it received some great reviews.

I decided to give it a try in the form of  the All About the Pout Colour Moisture Lipstick a while ago and I am pleased to say I am quite impressed.

I have four of the Lipsticks now.

Sleek Lip4 Lipstick Palette in Ballet 858

I will make no secret of the fact that I love Sleek make up. In face, I love it so much that I bought something I don’t normally buy from them the other day, Sleek lip4 Lipstick Palette in ballet

I haven’t really used lipstick in the last few years as I had a bad accident involving my front teeth and I never wanted to draw attention to that area, recently though I have been having treatment and have all my front teeth back again 🙂 so I thought why not give my relationship with lipstick another go.

I chose the most neutral palette – Ballet 858, as I am quite pale and I also tend to wear quite heavy shadow, so I did not want anything too WOW , but these lip palettes come in a variety of colours from neutral to daring colours.

I buy Sleek in Superdrug, but you can also buy it online and i also think that selected Boots stores stock it (although I have never seen it in any I have been in)

The palette is made up of four colours all of which are different finishes. The packaging is cute and it comes in a compact with mirror and lip – brush.
