Beauty Wishlist!

Morning Lovelies! Today I have a little Wishlist to share with you, it’s all the beauty essentials I am lusting after right now!

1. Beauty Blender Original £16.00

These little egg shaped sponges are supposed to be AMAZING! They are made from a unique material that means your make up won’t soak up your make up during application. 360 degrees of edgeless sponge wonder provides flawless application preventing lines and streaks. You can use it for all types of make up, wet or dry and there are several different sponges for different jobs, I’m dying to try the original one after getting such good results with a £5 dupe by Real Techniques!

2. Mac Please Me Lipstick £15.50

I have wanted this shade of mac for a while, but I find that £15 on one lipstick is wayyyyy too out of my price range. I’ve heard great things about it though! It’s the shade I am lusting after the most, i’m struggling to find one thats even remotely like it from a normal Boots brand.

3. Elegant Touch Nails Totally Bare Stiletto £4.65

I like to have false nails in for when I go out, I have recently stopped having acrylics done so I rely on having sets like these in for emergencies! I love the fact that you can paint them any colour you want, so you can match the shade to your outfit! It gives you a little bit more freedom than having a classic french set!

4. Sleek Make up Dancing Till Dusk Eye and Cheek Palette £9.99

I am a huge fan of Sleek Makeup. I have a few of the eyeshadow palettes and the contouring palette in light is part of my everyday routine. I love the idea of this little palette, blushes and eyeshadows all in one place, which means for me less make up to carry on a night out hoorahhhh!

5. Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Backcomb In A Bottle £4

This little bottle of wonder is a must have if like me you have lifeless flat hair. I have quite thin hair and I find it hard to hold any sort of style. For a night out, I like a bit more volume but it would be nice if my hair hadn’t gone flat about ten minutes after leaving the house. This product also claims to help with texture which is another bonus for me.

6. Flash Jimmy Choo Perfume £46 for 60ml

I’ve blogged about this perfume previously, but it will always be on my beauty wishlist. I wore this the day I got married and all through our honeymoon as well, so not only does it smell gorgeous but it comes with alot of good memories! Try it if you get a chance because it’s soooo nice!

What would be on your wishlist this month? Do you fancy trying any of my picks?

Beauty on a Budget – Pound Picks!

If you regularly read my blog, you will no doubt know that I am obsessed with budget beauty buys, showing that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get products that leave you feeling amazing. In this addition to my Beauty on a Budget posts, I share with you my pound picks!

I thought I would set myself a little task. I took out £15, and went to three high street pound shops to see what I could get for my money and I am pretty pleased with myself!

Pound World

Macadamia Oil Extract hair treatment
Nivea Soft Rose Lip Balm
Rimmel London Nail Polish in Lemon Drop
Garnier Skin Naturals Pimple Relief Roll on

99p Stores

Garnier Skin Naturals Oil Control Complete
Original Source Coconut Shower Gel
Impulse Tease
Impulse Into Glamour

Pound Land

Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo
Herbal Essences Bee Strong Conditioner
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Fuschia Bling Bling
Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Pronto Purple
Montagne Jeunesse Face Pack x2

In total on all the products I spent £12.96! A quick scout around other stores showed that I could have paid near to £40 for all these products!!  It’s amazing what brands you can find when you have a little snoop in the pound shops. Some lines have been discontinued, but who cares, you may find something you have been missing for a few years. I have even spotted some Calvin Klein make up floating around before. I have to mention again though not all of them stock the same thing, so you may not get exactly what I have but it is definitely worth having a good old snoop!

Some of the things I bought, I have never used before so I am looking forward to trying those out and letting you know how they are.

Do you get any beauty products from the Pound shops? What are your best buys?

Outfit August! Little black dress!

Hello everyone, today I thought i’d share an outfit from a while back that I never actually posted on the blog.

Everyone has at least one item of clothing that makes them feel amazing and everyone knows the importance of the Little Black Dress! This is my offering, where the two go hand in hand!

2014-12-31 19.34.34

This lace dress is by Ax Paris Curve, I got it from Simply Be just after christmas last year. I love the style, with tonnes of petticoats underneath it is just so beautiful on. The arms are a bonus for me and the split at the front accentuates your curves without having too much flesh on show.

I wore thick black tights and a pair of cute lace detail peeptoe heels from George at Asda, which matched  the print of the dress.

The photos were taken on New Years Eve. James and I went to a party at the TA Centre with friends and it was honestly the best NYE I’ve ever had 🙂

I hope I get a chance to wear it in the future, as it truly made me feel a million dollars!

I would love it if you could check out the other ladies taking part in Outfit August using the links below 🙂

The Body Jewellery Shop

SAM_0987If you’re like me and you love ear piercingsthen this is definitely post for you. I was recently sent three beautiful pieces from The Body Jewellery Shop, and I have to say I am in love!

The first piece, was this silver and steel lobe/tragus bar.

3 Star Silver and Steel Lobe/ Tragus Bar* – £3.95

I love how cute this is, its so easy to put in as well. The star detail is silver and the bar and ball are surgical steel. I chose to wear it in my Helix, but it is suitable for most piercings in your ears. I like this style for the helix, because they are comfortable and if you’re leaving them in there is no butterfly holding it in irritating your neck if you lay on it.

Next up, we have something a tiny little bit different.  Two ear cuffs, which are from the non piercing jewellery range.

Silver Star Ear Cuff* – £2.49

Beauty on a Budget 5 – Make Up Gallery Nail Polish

I have already raved about the lipstick I previously picked up at Poundland here! Now its time to talk about the nail polish and I am as equally impressed!

I love having my nails done, but I also love doing them myself. I haven’t had acrylics done since coming back from Thailand in December, as my nails were in pretty bad shape plus it can also get quite expensive, as you have to have them redone so often.

Luckily I discovered this polish and at £1 a go it won’t break the bank. I started off with just one to try and now I have built up quite a collection.

These polishes come in a fab range of colours including pastels, metallics, brights and glitters.

Beauty on a Budget – Lipstick by Make up Gallery

So you probably all saw in the press a while back that Poundland had brought out its own range of make up products – MakeUp Gallery, and it received some great reviews.

I decided to give it a try in the form of  the All About the Pout Colour Moisture Lipstick a while ago and I am pleased to say I am quite impressed.

I have four of the Lipsticks now.

From Left to Right: 01 Perfectly, Nude 07 Rose Pink, 08 Bubblegum Pink, 12 Pink Berry

Spot on skin care

I have tried several different types of skin care routine in the past but nothing has stuck with me. My most recent routine however is one that is definitely going to stay.

I have been blinded by price, in the past, believing that skin care has to cost a bomb to be effective, in this post I am aiming to show you that this is not the case. I have used everything from Clinique to REN and I haven’t had anywhere near the results I get with my current routine. My skin has never felt so fresh and soft, as well as hydrated. Here are the products I am currently using:

Morning facial wash

When I wake up in the morning, I wash my face with an exfoliating facial scrub. The one I use is from Superdrug and it is one from their own brand of Tea Tree Skincare products.

Tea Tree Skincare Exfoliating Cream Wash  – £3.29 Superdrug

Tea tree oil is known for its antibacterial properties and is a great way to wake your skin up in the morning after a long nights sleep. It also helps fight against pesky breakouts and contains walnut shell granules to help soften the skin.  This product also cleanses skin so I use it for that purpose in the mornings as well.

Spot Solution

Gone are the days as a teenager where you would put a dab of toothpaste on a spot at night to help it clear by the morning (as if I used to do that *cringe*) Every now and again I do suffer from a breakout. Its annoying as I take every step to ensure my skin is clean and fresh to avoid them. When I do get a pesky little spot, I like to use a quick fix solution to stop the redness and ensure that no one can see it! I use a spot stick, which again is from Tea Tree Skincare by Superdrug, its called the Action Spot Stick

Tea Tree Skincare Action Spot Stick – £3.29  Superdrug

A thin layer of this relieves any soreness and also works to reduce redness leaving me feeling confident I can leave the house!! Plus it contains tea tree and we know how good that is for spots on the face.

Cleanser, Toner and Moisturiser

Growing up my mum used to lecture me about how important it was to Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise, now I am older I wish I had listened and started doing it in my teens as I feel I have ruined my skin by wearing make up as a teen and not protecting my it properly. But, better late than never.
