Smoothie does it!

When I was off work about a month ago, I caught a segment on This Morning regarding Juices and Smoothies.

I have trouble eating in a morning when I get up, I just can’t face a meal or anything too heavy so I always skip breakfast. I literally do not eat before about 11, this is so bad for you especially since I get up at 6.30. Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day so as I was watching I thought what a great way to get something in me at breakfast time!

I’ve been having a smoothie every morning for about a month and I thought I would share some of my favourites with you!

Supercharger!

1 banana
125 ml Alpro coconut milk
1/4 tsp cinnamon
Small handful of spinach leaves
1/2 tsp chia seeds (soaked)

I know it sounds and looks pretty disgusting, but its actually amazing! I think it is my favourite one. This contains plenty of B Vitamins as well as magnesium and Omega 3 for heart health. Chia seeds are good because they expand in the water, creating a thicker smoothie, leaving you feeling fuller for longer.

Vitamin Booster

2 carrots
2 apples (including seeds)
1/2 lemon (with skin)
1 Tsp of ground ginger
water

I think this one is supposed to be a juice, but I blend it up as much as i can so it goes really smooth.  It contains beta -carotene for glowing skin, lemon which is a natural detoxifier and ginger which is an anti-inflammatory. Its sweet and really refreshing.

Peanut Butter Berry

50g frozen mixed berries
1 banana
100ml Alpro Coconut milk
1 TBSP Peanut Butter

This one was not featured on this morning, but I found it whilst looking for something to fill in one day of the week. I love peanut butter, and it goes surprisingly well with berries! Its sweet and creamy and still under 300 calories!
