If you know me, or regularly read my blog, you know that I love finding great bargain Make Up products, so when I saw the Primark PS Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon, I had to give them a try at £2 a go!
For a long time, I avoided the Primark beauty section. It never really had anything to offer – mostly items you would give to your kid sister for Christmas so that she could pretend to be a princess – not anymore!! I know alot of bloggers and vloggers have been raving about this new range which is constantly expanding!
I bought three of these on my first trip and I have to say, I’m going back for more! On first glance in the shop, it reminded me of the Velvetease Lip Pencil from MAC.
What I loved!
I love the range of colours – they go from neutral to bold and cover everything in between! There really is something to suit every skin tone here which makes this product a winner in my eyes.
The packaging isn’t anything amazingly high end, but what do you expect from Primark? This has no effect on how amazing the product is so it shouldn’t put you off!
As far as the product itself goes, it’s extremely easy to apply, and is highly pigmented. I love the shape of the product, it’s easy to use the top of the crayon to line the lips and then use the fat edge to fill them in! These Lip Crayons last a long time once applied – I can go to at least lunchtime without having to reapply.
It’s not like your standard Matte lipstick, in that it doesn’t dry to an extremely matte finish and does transfer (mostly onto my coffee cup) but it still does the job.
Things I didn’t like?
Well when you sharpen it it looks a bit manky – as you can see in the photo above.
Also some colours are named and some aren’t, the two darkest pencils here are called Mushroom and Nude Beach, then the really light one has no name at all!!
Overall, a great product at an affordable price, easy to use and brilliant for anyone who wants to stock up on a lovely lippy for a great price. You can get EIGHT of these for the price of one MAC Velvetease Lip Pencil !!
Give them a go and let me know what you think!!
