So firstly, apologies for my late update on this, it’s been pretty hectic since we got back. I was straight back to work when we got home and I literally havent had two minutes to sit and blog. To be completely honest I haven’t felt like it for a while. But i’m back now and i’m bringing you the results of a little challenge I set myself about a month ago when James and I went to Dublin, you can read about that here.
Anyway I failed! I did not wear everything In my luggage, but I was pretty damn close. there were only three items I didn’t actually get around to wearing, which is pretty good for me (normally there is sooooo much more!!)
I learnt that it is good to limit yourself and that I don’t need to take my whole wardrobe with me. I learnt how to pack things that coordinate well together and could be worn for a few different looks as opposed to planning separate outfits containing mountains of clothes. One thing that worked well was not taking any toiletries, I think this gave me peace of mind that I had enough clothes just in case I had one of those days!
The weather was amazing in Dublin, so that was the main reason I didn’t wear all of the things I took. One of those being a long sleeved dress, which I would have been way too hot in!
This is the outfit I wore to travel in. I wanted something comfortable for an early morning flight, but I also knew I would have to spend most of the day in this as well because we couldn’t check into the hotel until the afternoon. The top is a peplum style from Primark, the Jeans are Super Stretch from Simply Be, I ripped the knees myself. I love my shoes! I get so many comments on them (not always good) but I didn’t steal them! I bought them in the Office sale for £5 about 5 years ago and they are still going strong. One of the best £5 I have ever spent!
I wore this skirt from Primark with a cream cami from Next a couple of times whilst there! It was so comfy, I am way more into skirts that I am Jeans but i only took this one, along with a few dresses. My denim Jacket is one I picked up in a vintage shop a few years back, but I love how it compliments any outfit.
So next time, I think I will definitely try have the confidence to take less with me! Hopefully I will get a chance if we go away for our wedding anniversary next month!
How do you get on when you only take hand luggage? Any tips on how to travel light?
