So, I’ve raved about the Primark beauty range on the blog before – you can check those posts out by clicking here and here – but I have been loving the false eyelashes that they have on offer lately! I thought I would do a quick post today, a Primark false eyelashes review!
I’m all about budget when it comes to most of my beauty buys and I want to stress that there’s no shame in not wanting to spend a lot on your beauty products. I’ve certainly been made to feel like a cheapskate in the past and I think a lot of people fall into the trap of thinking that if it costs a lot more, it’s a better quality but with products like false eyelashes, that is not the case! Unless you really want a mink lash, then don’t be afraid to try something a little more budget friendly. If you care for your cheap falsies correctly, there is no reason why you can’t use them again and again!
Hello everyone! The blog has been the last thing on my mind lately for several reasons, I won’t go into detail but a lot of bloggers know that if you need time for yourself you’ve got to just take it. Forcing yourself to blog only makes matters worse and turns the hobby into a massive chore (which I definitely don’t want!!!) I’m back today with an I Heart Makeup Chocolate and Peaches Eyeshadow Palette review!
So I Heart Makeup is an offshoot of Makeup Revolution, offering amazing budget makeup for everyone. Everyone knows that the eyeshadow in particular is amazing, they are so pigmented and are really easy to work with. What I love about the I Heart Makeup line is that it’s so fun and girly!
Happy Friday! I hope you’re all planning an awesome weekend! Make sure you let me know what you’re up to! I don’t know about you but when you’re getting up at 5am and leaving for work at 6am, there isn’t much time for an extremely complicated makeup look! Today I thought I would share with you my simple everyday eyeshadow look on a budget, I wear some variation of this most days and it is easy to achieve in just 3 simple steps!
For this look, I used the Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Essential Mattes 2. I love this palette because it costs £4 in Superdrug and is extremely good value for what you get! These shadows have been raved about on beauty blogs everywhere, so you know how good they are, but I really recommend them also! They are so pigmented and so easy to work with, I have all of them in my collection! I like this one though because its an all matte palette and the shades are really easy to blend, especially if you’re a beginner and are looking to experiment! Now onto the steps for the eyeshadow look!
Lately I’ve been getting more and more daring with my makeup looks, stepping away from regular eyeshadow and trying something different. I discovered Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel liner recently and I’ve been using it religiously to add a touch of glam to some of my evening eye looks! Even better is that it is an absolute bargain beauty buy! I thought I would do a small review for you and show you my 3 favourite ways to wear it!
Firstly, glitter for life and not just for Christmas! I love adding it to my makeup looks all year round because I deserve to sparkle and shine! I have the Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in 3 Shades – 01 Glitz, 03 Funk and 09 Retro Chic. I got 2 of them in Boots, but I picked up 09 Retro Chic in Poundland!
These liners are particularly easy to work with, they come with an uber fine applicator and are basically just glitter contained in a super-fast drying clear gel! They are so easy to build up and can be worn alone or over the top of eyeshadow making it super simple to create the look you want! They last forever without needing to touch them up and seriously compliment any eye look you can think of. There is such an awesome range of colours, from classic golds and silvers all the way to daring blues and fuchsias, so there really is something for every occasion. Now onto the looks!
I used 09 Retro Chic for this and I love how it stands out. I kept the lid bare, but you could add some definition to the crease with a medium brown shadow. Finish with lashings of black mascara or even your favourite falsies.
Happy Monday, this week is going to be a beauty filled week on the blog, starting with a review of the Makeup Revolution Flawless Palette.
Like most makeup lovers, I adore Makeup Revolution! Their products are really high quality and affordable which make them perfect if you’re on a budget like me! I have had the Flawless Matte palette for a while now, but since I have been experimenting with my eyeshadow looks lately, I really wanted to try a palette like this that had a mix of textures!
In true Makeup Revolution style, the packaging is flawless, this particular palette comes in a lovely shiny box, which you can just see peeping in the last photo, which makes it stand out. The shadow pans themselves are housed in the signature sleek black palette that I have come to expect from this brand.
If you know me, or regularly read my blog, you know that I love finding great bargain Make Up products, so when I saw the Primark PS Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon, I had to give them a try at £2 a go!
For a long time, I avoided the Primark beauty section. It never really had anything to offer – mostly items you would give to your kid sister for Christmas so that she could pretend to be a princess – not anymore!! I know alot of bloggers and vloggers have been raving about this new range which is constantly expanding!
Like most people into makeup, I fell in love with MAC. I adore so many of their products, but being on a strict budget sometimes means that I cannot afford to spend too much on the makeup I wear everyday. I’ve tried so many products to compile this post and bring you my fave MAC Dupes!
Powder for me is something that I struggle with. Having oily skin means that I cant wear anything too heavy, so this translucent powder from MAC is so perfect because it’s so lightweight. I love that this is so translucent so it doesn’t add any extra colour to your face when setting your foundation.
I haven’t done anything remotely related to beauty on a budget for a while now and since I have been into buying Collection 2000 lately, a super affordable line with a great range of products to choose from, I thought i’d do a Collection 2000 review and share my thoughts on a few of the different items I have and whether I think they are a hit or a miss!
Primed and Ready Illuminating and Reviving Eye Primer – £3.99 – Boots – Not really anything special, a bit watery for me. It did illuminate as there is a pearlised colour to it but to be honest my eye make up did not look any different – Miss
Primed and Ready Mattifying Pore Minimiser – £3.99 – Boots – A great primer! It contains which hazel, which is a natural antibacterial ingredient to help keep spots at bay. Not fantastic at minimizing pores but a great mattifying product none the less – Hit
I haven’t had much experience with Makeup Revolution, I have their Iconic 1, 2 and 3 Palettes and their Golden Sugar Blush palette but I didn’t know until very recently they have added so many more products to their line!
As someone who is new to defining my brows and using brow products, I started out using the Sleek Makeup Eyebrow kit- £8.50. It is a great one for beginners and contains a pigmented wax, a setting powder and all the necessary tools for perfect brows every time. It is however starting to run out. On a recent shopping trip, I was thrilled to see that Superdrug had a Makeup Revolution stand and also stocked their sister products (I may have gone slightly crazy and bought lots, meaning a few more reviews coming soon) So instead of making my usual purchase, I bought the Makeup Revolution Ultra Brow Palette in Medium to dark -£7.99
To be honest, the price is bloody fantastic for all the products you get, compared to the Sleek Kit, where you get two.
In this kit you get:
- Mini Tweezers
- 2 Brow Brushes
- Eyebrow Pencil
- Eyebrow Arch Enhancing Cream
- 2 Shades Tinted Brow Wax
- 4 Shades Blendable Eyebrow Powder
If you regularly read my blog, you will no doubt know that I am obsessed with budget beauty buys, showing that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get products that leave you feeling amazing. In this addition to my Beauty on a Budget posts, I share with you my pound picks!
I thought I would set myself a little task. I took out £15, and went to three high street pound shops to see what I could get for my money and I am pretty pleased with myself!
Macadamia Oil Extract hair treatment
Nivea Soft Rose Lip Balm
Rimmel London Nail Polish in Lemon Drop
Garnier Skin Naturals Pimple Relief Roll on
Garnier Skin Naturals Oil Control Complete
Original Source Coconut Shower Gel
Impulse Into Glamour
Herbal Essences Bee Strong Shampoo
Herbal Essences Bee Strong Conditioner
Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Fuschia Bling Bling
Sally Hansen Insta Dry in Pronto Purple
Montagne Jeunesse Face Pack x2
In total on all the products I spent £12.96! A quick scout around other stores showed that I could have paid near to £40 for all these products!! It’s amazing what brands you can find when you have a little snoop in the pound shops. Some lines have been discontinued, but who cares, you may find something you have been missing for a few years. I have even spotted some Calvin Klein make up floating around before. I have to mention again though not all of them stock the same thing, so you may not get exactly what I have but it is definitely worth having a good old snoop!
Some of the things I bought, I have never used before so I am looking forward to trying those out and letting you know how they are.
Do you get any beauty products from the Pound shops? What are your best buys?
